Having found a planet willing to negotiate for the enchanted artifacts used to draw out the Infected, Red provided the Earth a chance to protect itself from invasion. Frustrated at the prospect of a future defined by hiding and defense, Red embarks on a mission to stop the Infected once and for all. But when greed and ambition square off against limited resources amidst a collapsing inter-world economy, Red must forego her quest and keep humanity from destroying itself.

The human colonies, plagued for eons with world-ending attacks by the Infected, battle over the remnants left behind by the vanished elves. And amidst the chaos, can she admit to herself an impossible love that cannot last? Can Red unite humanity against their common foe, and point them at their worst enemy, or will mankind end their story in destruction?
